An article is piece of writing, written for a large audience. The main motive is to publish a proven idea or opinion in either newspapers,magazines or journals so as to impart a change to a particular audience.
A listicle is also a type of article. More like a list of info, copywriting skills is encouraged when it comes to writing contents like articles and more. (An example of a listicle- 10 self editing tips for beginner writers.)
Article writing has a format;
1. A title (usually long, very good for SEO purposes. 5-9 words long is enough)
2. Introduction- this highlights the main content of your article, more like tells the reader why they should go on.
3. Body – a descriptive paragraphs that has the main content of the info you are sharing.
4. Additional info (not necessarily)
5. Conclusion
To write a good article consider some of these steps;
1. A good topic: pick a topic on the niche you are writing about.
2. Target Audience: know who you are writing for. Their age, where they live, their likes and dislikes, their problems and what solutions you have for them.
3. Research: make sure your information is accurate and original not some copied work .
4. Outline your steps: when writing an article keep your info simple and properly arranged. You don’t want your readers confused or seeing your work as a complete waste of time.
5. Edit: don’t do this on the go, do it right after writing the first draft. Then edit again until it’s polished.
6. Send it out: test your piece. If it’s good enough, you will definitely get feedbacks. If it’s not, there’s room for improvement.
