Write a good book with zero experience – tips.

1. focus on a single story: don’t try to write every idea in your head. All you need is one idea, then expand on that.

2. Use prompts and short stories : the more you read stories in your niche, the better your creativity gets.

Prompts are there to make you exercise your mental skills. Push yourself to create something out of a sentence, a phrase or even a single word by focusing on the sensory details of your own personal experience. If the prompt is “love” go for an emotional aspect your readers will resonate most with. For instance; “Jude dumped Cassy for the same girl he didn’t want her to become” (this is a flash fiction but imagine you were able to focus on an angle like this and decide to tell us more about Jude and Cassy’s love life using a fictional character 🙂)

3. Understand that your first draft will be shitty: oh yeah, I can’t emphasize this enough. Your first second and even the third might not come together and it’s okay. Get the thoughts down first then you can polish it later.

4. Use your day to day life: this is quite simple and a bit difficult – but yeah it really helps. Imagine you’re a salesgirl at a coffeeshop write about Jane who is salesgirl at a coffeeshop her “day in the life” activities, what kind of customers she encounters every day, how she overcomes the pressure of serving difficult customers and dealing with an arrogant boss. Make things up but using a relatable story from what you know will give it a lot of message and flavor or spice 😌

5. Practice with others in your niche: join writing communities, participate in their prompts, read their stories. Network.

If you follow any of (or all) these steps closely, you will be able to write a good book. A story that will sell.

Good luck ❤️
