Avoid head hopping – Editing your own writing.

Head hopping in fiction writing means – confusing the readers by using multiple points of view in a scene wrongly. With good practice a good writer can handle using more than one POV for a scene or chapter and still not mess with the readers head. But when it’s not properly done, it becomes a disaster.

Here’s how you can avoid head hopping in your story ;

Study novels labeled third person narratives. Reading and analyzing books in your genre will help you understand how to play with POVs effectively. Especially when you’re studying experienced authors.

Develop a strong sense of your own narrative voice. It’s important to be consistent in the writing practice. Writing every day helps you develop a formed habit of writing, it also enables you find your own unique voice and figure how you can sharpen it.

Stick with one character perspective per scene or chapter till you master the craft of using more than one POV .
