Self care as an important part of personal development

I think it’s crucial to discuss the importance of self care and self care routines.

Self care goes beyond taking care of your skin, staying hydrated, going to the gym and all that.

A person with a good self care routine is a person whose self esteem is always on point.

I don’t think we get to discuss what positive self esteem can really do in a person’s life.

Like you’re aware of your entire being – your flaws, your perfections and you fully embrace who you are and you know you’re enough so it don’t matter what anyone else says or does. It literally means you know your worth, no one else can take that away from you or break that awareness.

Confidence don’t just appear from no where. It takes conscious efforts, being intentional about what you eat, drink, think, say or do. Being self sufficient, self aware. Whether it’s eating balanced meals per day, exercising at least thrice every week, taking a walk every evening, keeping your system hydrated…

We don’t get to take care of everyone else and forget to look after ourselves. It’s not fair to us. The more we take care of our bodies, the more we cultivate self love, positive self esteem, the more we do not want to fuck with negative energies.

So we gotta stay conscious of our environments (internal and external). Be mindful of what we say to ourselves, never let anyone down talk us, do the things that makes us feel alive, stay far away from toxic people, get enough rest/sleep, be conscious of our healths…

The more conscious we become about self care, the more effective and efficient we become in other aspects of our lives.

So the question is

  1. Great post. I agree fully, self care isn’t selfish and once we, feel better about ourselves, love on ourselves, we are able to love more and treat other persons better. For me personally, self care is about alone time with myself, whether it be 30 mins in the morning to read my book or just sit and relax, it is about exercise and it is about a relaxing skin care routine.
